Why was I charged a Dishonoured Payment Fee on my MogoCard?

It looks like the amount you tried to load on to your MogoCard wasn’t available in your linked bank account when we tried to process the transfer. Remember, it can take up to 4 business days for the money to be removed from your account.

When you add money to your MogoCard online through your linked bank in your MogoAccount, you manually enter the amount you want. If this full amount isn't available in your bank account, the transfer will be declined and you’ll be charged a $25[1] Dishonoured Payment Fee. Your card balance will be debited the amount of the transfer plus the $25 fee which could put your card into a negative balance.

We know, this sucks! It's important to make sure that you have money available in your bank account before you try to add money to your MogoCard. 

1 - Effective January 5, 2019, the Dishonoured Payment Fee will be increased to $48.00.
